Running at 45 rpm in a silk screened die cut jacket the debut EP titled Jump contains 7 transportive tracks of trance inducing wonder. Equally inspired by early electronic music pioneers of the German variety such as Cluster’s Roedelius, as well as the after hours DJ culture presently alive in NYC, Schuette constructs sculptures of sound for loud speakers. Produced at home, with beats laid down and instruments applied in an impressionistic style Peter manages to reference the disparate music of 80’s synth bands, minimalist composers, elevator music, the commercial schmaltz of late period Herbie Hancock and like the project name suggests “House Music” of all stripes and colors.

PRESS:

“Instant composition” electronic beats and uptempo, public access channel music beds from Silk Flowers’ Peter Schuette. It’s pretty lush, billowing material, full of elastic computer bass and some creative, “Risky Business” style synth leads…” -Doug Mosurock (STILL SINGLE)

“Peter Schuette (of Silk Flowers & Psychobuildings fame) sets it to smooth control on this cool house jammer, cruisin thru smoke & mirror club corners decorated with icy synth flourishes…” -Shea Bermingham (ROSE QUARTZ)

“Peter Schuette is the wizard behind the keys in Psychobuildings and Silk Flowers and formerly of Soiled Mattress and the Springs. Literally look at the dude he is clearly a wizard. Peter’s House Music is his very straight forward name for the house music he makes at home. House music is maybe not an exact one to one correlation for the creature he’s created on his debut EP, Jump, which features plenty of space guitar and industrial synth leanings. But, yeah, he’s right, it’s also got a ton of 303 or 808 or 404 and like all the drum machines ever put together on your computer program divided by DJ Harvey at 4AM…” -Matthew Schnipper (THE FADER)

“When he’s not getting his goth on in Silk Flowers or grooving the light fantastic as the frontman of Psychobuildings, Peter Schuette busies himself with another project, the aptly-named Peter’s House Music. This particular four-to-the-floor cut is from the man’s forthcoming Jump 12″ on All Hands Electric.” -Larry Fitzmaurice (PITCHFORK)
